Mildred Anne Johnson

Mildred Anne Johnson, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Dove House, a BridgingLife Hospice in Westminster.  Born December 15, 1931,   she was the daughter of the late G. Richard Nicholson and Naomi Griffith (Nicholson), nee Knill.   She was predeceased by former husband Frank Johnson, Sr., who died on March 23, 2003.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, and for more than twenty-five years, until she was 87 years old, worked part-time in various capacities at C.V.S. Drug Stores, serving as greeting card coordinator, pharmacy clerk and drug store clerk.  She was always known for her extensive memory and attention to details, including those often overlooked by others.  She loved her little Boston Terrier “Katie” and enjoyed spending time with her children.

Surviving are her children, Velvet Johnson and wife Barbara of Alexandria, Virginia, and Frank Johnson and wife Dawn Adair of Gaithersburg, Maryland.  In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Nicholson, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, in 1992 and sister Jacqueline Binnix of Silver Spring, Maryland in 2011.

The family will receive friends at 12pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 136 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown, Maryland 21787. The interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mildred’s name to the BridgingLife Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, Maryland 21157.
