Mildred B. Jester

Mildred Baumgardner Jester, 93, of Taneytown, Maryland, died peacefully Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Lorien Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Taneytown. Born July 16, 1919 in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Norman R. and Edna (Mehring) Baumgardner. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore M. Jester in 2009.

Mildred graduated from Western Maryland College in 1940, and worked as a substitute teacher with the Carroll County Schools. She was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Taneytown, and enjoyed participating in civic activities. She was an avid Bridge player, and volunteered at the Carroll Hospital Center.

Surviving are daughters, Anita Landreau (Anne Candreva) of Pittsburgh, PA, Jacquelyn Boisvert of Taneytown, and Patricia Gartmann (Achim Gartmann) of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren, Christopher Landreau (Yuki), Geoffrey Landreau (Liliana), and Ryan Polk (Bethany); three great-granddaughters.
She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Carl Boisvert.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church Chapel with Rev. Josh and Rev. Rachel Semovoski co-officiating. Interment will be private in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD 21787.
