Mildred L. (Airing) Hess, age 93, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Shepherd’s Glen Assisted Living in Taneytown.
Born July 7, 1916 in Carroll County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles Elvin and Ethel Romaine (Davidson) Airing.
She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Ambrose Leo “Pete” Hess on June 22, 2009.
She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown, and was a life long dairy farmer along with her husband in the Emmitsburg and Taneytown area.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Wanda J. Hess.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with her pastor the Rev. Steven Ostendorf-Snell officiating. Interment will follow in the Grace U.C.C. Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
