Mildred Irene Hawkins, 96, of Littlestown, PA died Saturday, January 18, 2014 at her home. Born March 26, 1917 at Sam’s Creek near New Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Julia Ann Crabb Naill.
Mildred was a homemaker. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching soap operas, spending time with her family, and cooking for them.
Surviving are daughter, Carolleen “Carol” Griffith of Taneytown, son, Jimmy Hawkins and wife Debbi of Towson, and daughter, Bonnie Krezak of Florida; brother, Ernest Naill of Uniontown; grandchildren, John Fogle and fiancé Lynn Bledsoe of Littlestown, PA, Juanita Griffith of Taneytown, Dale Bigham of Taneytown, Ed Griffith of Gettysburg, PA, Michael Hawkins of Towson, Tammy Hawkins of Gettysburg, PA, and Jesse Hawkins of Hope Mills, NC; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by daughter, Beverly, grandson, Darryl Bigham, sister, Edith Roop, and brothers, Herman, Fred, Tommy, Wolford, and Rocky Naill.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 24 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Westminster. The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
