Mildred R. “Millie” Bollinger, 81, of Taneytown passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born December 30, 1933 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Catherine Sauerwein Weant. She was the wife of Robert L. Bollinger, to whom she was married for 61 years.
Millie worked at the Super Fresh market, formerly A&P, in Westminster for 28 years. Earlier in her life she worked alongside her husband on the family dairy farm. She was a Christian, and regularly attended women’s activities and retreats. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown, where she formerly taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Gary Bollinger and wife Kelly of Uniontown; daughters, Diane Bollinger of Westminster, and Dinah Eyler of Taneytown; sisters, Hazel Walker of Gettysburg, PA, and Kathleen Krout of Littlestown, PA; brother, Clyde Weant and wife Rhoda of Taneytown; grandchildren, Robert Bollinger, Jennifer Alloway, and Brian Eyler; step-grandson, Tony Parrish; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Nicole Bollinger, Joshua Burns, and Kaylee and Landon Cox; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she dearly loved.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD, with Pastors Stacy Marsh and Lloyd Fuss officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
