Michael Joseph Macy of Westminster passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2021. He was the loving husband of Claudia Ann Macy for 34 years. Born November 24, 1943, he was the son of the late Albert Macy and Margaret Macy, nee McClelland. He was predeceased by his brothers Russell Macy, James Macy, John Macy and his sister Margaret Bevans.
He served in the United States Air Force and the National Guard. He enjoyed being outdoors, talking to people especially when camping and being a camp host. His trademark was wearing baseball hats that said USA, his ironic smile, and his candidness.
Surviving are his children Michele Macy, Cheryl White, Deborah Brown, James Macy, Michael Merkle and Kimberly Palmer; as well as numerous loving grandchildren and adorable great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and interment will be at Baltimore National Cemetery at 5501 Frederick Avenue, Catonsville, MD (21228) on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11 a.m., officiated by Chaplin Jermel Gilliam. A Celebration of Life will be held at Glory Days at 10035 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City, MD immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
