Max Russell Price, age 87, of Westminster, MD, died peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taneytown.
Born June 27, 1927 in Ridgeway, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Luther Martin Price and Lillian Love (Barrow) Price.  He was the husband of Kitty Lee (Warner) Price, his wife of 68 years.
He entered the Navy December 11, 1944 and served until April 5, 1946.  He was a Fireman 1st Class on the USS Smith (DD378).  He worked at the Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown, MD for 20 years as a plumber and in maintenance; Fedders in Walkersville; and retired from All State Welding in Taneytown in 1994.  In his younger years he played baseball for 20 years with the New Windsor team.  He liked to play checkers, and played in two tournaments.  He loved to play Bingo, and was a big fan of the Orioles, and NASCAR racing.  His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Jr.  He loved to go riding around the country side on his 1968 Triumph Motorcycle.  He bowled on several leagues, and was an avid golfer, playing on courses around Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Myrtle Beach, S.C.  He enjoyed several long distance trips in the tractor trailer that his son drove.  He was a member of VFW Post 8806 in Union Bridge.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Susan Price of Westminster, Martha Brown and husband  Larry of Westminster, Vicki Mulligan and husband Patrick of Delaware, Kimberly Dell and husband Randy of Delaware; son, Max E. “Buster” Price of Union Bridge; sister, Dorothy E. Smith of Sykesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland and Helen Price of Sparks, and James and Ann Price of Conway, S.C.; sister-in-law, Margaret Price of Westminster; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Frances Wilhelm and Mary J. Utz; and by brothers, Verilus “Howard” Price and Richard Price.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 4:30 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St, Westminster, MD.  Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD  21157.
