Matthew Jacob Hamm age 45 of Harrisburg, PA, died at his home on January 15, 2025. Born October 9, 1979, He was the son of Michael and Geneva Hamm. 

Matt was an intelligent, thoughtful and humorous man, gifted in the arts. He loved reading and writing poetry. He also loved music, singing and playing guitar. He loved to cook, and made the best meals. He was active in the practice of yoga and meditation. He found peace, connection and grounding through his yoga practice, and was passionate about expressing his life through his practice. He loved to learn, and to share his knowledge with those close to him. He became interested in hunting, sharing this sport with his father, this year he tagged his first dear. He will be missed by his employer where he enjoyed the challenge of fixing, repairing and building for the verity of housing the company managed. He was supportive, and caring more than most. He saw the good in the world and desired more than anything for peace and connection. He enjoyed giving back to his community and his friends in anyway he could. Matthew is loved by all.

Besides his parents, he is cherished by his daughter, Cora Knight-Hamm and Matthew Dickens; brothers, Joshua and Michael Hamm and wife Cynthia Lynn; niece, London Marie Hamm and nephew, Skylar Thomas Hamm; and his partner Erika. 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 22nd for 4 to 7 p.m.

Interment will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery Eldersburg, MD
