Mary Lee Crawford Yingling, age 92, of Westminster, Maryland, resident of Carroll Lutheran Village, died peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2015 in her home surrounded by family.
Born on March 4, 1923 in Westminster, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Carroll Lee Crawford and Mary DeVilbiss Crawford. She was the wife of the late Loring B. Yingling.
Mary Lee attended St. John’s Catholic School and was a graduate of Westminster High School, class of 1940. She attended Western Maryland College. As a homemaker, she was devoted to her children and her grandchildren. Her family was always her priority. She also enjoyed traveling with her sister and friends, and special times at the beach.
She is survived by sons, Carroll L. “Splinter” Yingling and wife Sue Morales Yingling of Westminster, and John B. Yingling and wife Sharon Hafner Yingling of Westminster; grandchildren, Shelley Yingling of Newark, DE, Christopher Yingling and wife Heather of Westminster, John T. Yingling and wife Christina of Owings Mills, Laura Buppert and husband Jesse of Odenton, Benjamin Yingling and wife Amy of Westminster, Greg Gottleib and fiancée Kim Byrnes of Hampstead and Brian Gottleib and wife Lynn of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Reece and Kara Yingling, Briggs, Wyatt and Everitt Buppert, and Nicole Yingling. Her devoted caregiver, Teresa DeFeo Harmon joins the family in mourning her loss.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Thomas N. “Byrd” Yingling and a sister, Dorothy Spencer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 200 St. Luke Circle, Westminster with Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the chapel. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to either Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157 or to a charity of your choice.
