Mary Alice Williams, age 84, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Transitions Healthcare Center in Sykesville, MD.
Born April 21, 1931 in Oakdale, Allegheny County, PA, she was the daughter of the late John W. Leonard, Sr., and Mary Virginia (Weaver) Leonard.
She was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed singing and scrapbooking. She also performed at one time as part of the Rainbow Girls.
Surviving her are children, William Russell Williams of MD, Theresa Lynn Canapp of MD, Dwight Douglas Williams of Arkansas, Dana Andrew Williams of Pasadena, MD, and Kimberly Rae Williams of Westminster; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Caroline M. Sterling of Hanover, PA, Donna Jean Griffin of Tenn., and Judeth Randall of FL.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Ann Mercer; and by siblings, Etta Louise Collison and John W. Leonard, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 1 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD, with Rev. Mindy Coates officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
