Mary Alice Wetzel, 92, of Taneytown died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Golden Living Nursing Center in Westminster. Born December 5, 1920 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Ida Sprankle Reaver. She was the wife of the late Chester Wetzel.
Mary Alice was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching television and spending time with family. She was a member of the Piney Creek Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are sister, Helen Wimert and brother, Harry Reaver, both of Taneytown; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughters, Sandy Markle and Betty Pittinger, son, Larry Reaver, sister, Dorothy Wentz and brother, Sheridan Reaver.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Piney Creek Presbyterian Church, 4472 Harney Rd, Taneytown, MD with the Rev. H. Paul Matthews, III officiating. Interment will follow in Piney Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Arrangements are by Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
