Mary Louise Tracey, age 87, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Monday, November 21, 2011 at the College View Center in Frederick, Maryland.
Born October 7, 1924 near Emmitsburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mildred (Mort) Sharrer. She was predeceased by her husband, Myron Russell Tracey.
Mary was a 1941 graduate of the Emmitsburg High School, and retired in 1993 following 26 years of service to the Frederick County Public School System as an instructional assistant and community liaison. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Taneytown, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Taneytown Fire Department, and enjoyed gardening and time with family and friends.
Surviving are sons, James M. Tracey, Jerry R. Tracey and wife Zelda of Ocoee, FL., Randy L. Tracey of Taneytown, Barry “Pete” F. Tracey and wife Kristin of Taneytown; daughter-in-law, Dianne Tracey of Taneytown; sister, Rosie Bentz and husband Raymond of Thurmont; sister-in-law, Wilma Sharrer of Westminster; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sons, Robert M. and Richard H. Tracey; and by siblings, Evelyn Sies, Joseph and Donald Sharrer, and an infant baby brother Sharrer.
A Prayer Service will be held at 12:00 PM, on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Monsignor Martin E. Feild officiating. Interment will follow in the Grace U.C.C. Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
