Mary M. Slick, age 84 of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House.
Born August 18, 1929 in Roan Mountain, Tennessee she was the daughter of the late Simon L. and Hattie (Ledford) Garland. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. Slick.
Mary was retired after many years as a seamstress with English American Tailors in Westminster. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown.
Surviving are sister, Mable Geraldene “Jerrie” Nolte and husband Paul of Westminster; brother, Calvin Eugene Garland of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Martha H. Hughes, and by brothers, Clarence and Carroll B. Garland.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday evening and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with Rev. Steven Ostendorf officiating. Interment will follow in the Grace United Church of Christ Cemetery.
