Mary Alice Palmer, age 87, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
She was born November 1, 1925 in Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of the late William H. Gillespie and Helen A. (Swoboda) Gillespie. She was predeceased by her husband Horace Palmer.
She was a manager for 16 years with Korvettes Department Store in Baltimore.
Surviving are children, William F. “Bill” Coleman, Jr. and wife Mary Jane of Reisterstown, Shirley A. Lawson and husband Mike of Clarksville, John D. Coleman and wife Diana of Finksburg, and Sandra D. Cummins and husband Buddy of Mount Airy.
Also surviving are a nephew, Richard Kemple of Baltimore; 8 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster. Inurnment will be private in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville.
