Mary "Sis" Catherine Marshall

June 28, 1931 — March 5, 2010

Mary "Sis" Catherine Marshall, age 78, of The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, and formerly of Thurmont, Maryland, died peacefully on Friday evening March 5, 2010 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born June 28, 1931 in Thurmont, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Rosalia E. (Kreitz) Marshall.
Mary loved writing poetry, and was an avid writer. She received commendation and award for many of her writings. Mary also loved arts and crafts. She worked for many years as an office manager with the Claire Frock Co. of Thurmont, and was a member of St. Anthony’s Shrine Parish in Emmitsburg. She was a 1948 graduate of Thurmont High School.
Surviving are special cousins, Betty Marshall Smith of Fairfield, PA, Tammy Wentz and husband Steve of Cashtown, PA, and their son Cody Swisher; very special friends, Douglas “Grizzly” and Debbie Leach of Needmore, PA; a sister-in-law, Virginia Marshall of Woodsboro, MD; and other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by brothers, Thomas J. Marshall, and Archie A.W. Marshall.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 AM, on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the St. Anthony Shrine Parish, 16150 St. Anthony Road, Emmitsburg, Maryland with Father Michael Kuhn as celebrant. Interment will follow in Monocacy Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Rocky Ridge, Maryland. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 West Main Street, Emmitsburg, MD.
