Mary Ann Ida Makoutz, 81, of Taneytown died peacefully Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her home in the Carroll Vista community. Born May 17, 1932 in Youngstown, OH, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ida Monaco Pupino. She was the wife of David A. Makoutz, to whom she was married for 33 years.
Mary Ann studied nursing at St. Francis Hospital in Youngstown, OH and served as a school nurse for Carroll County public schools for several years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown. She enjoyed collecting angels and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are sons, Dr. John Joseph and wife Terry of Brunswick, Maine, and Kirk J. Holub of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Gary Bellamy-Holub and Alexis Eauclaire-Holub of Clarksburg, Charlotte and Bennett Joseph of Brunswick, Maine, and Tia Obrien of Germantown; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Gary Holub and brother, Carl Pupino.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with Monsignor Martin E. Feild officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills.
