Mary Alverta King, age 92 of Westminster, died Wednesday September 1, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Westminster. She was born July 21, 1918 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Martha V. Welk Harman. She worked as cashier at King’s Market and Little Goerge’s on Pennsylvania Avenue and Union Street in Westminster.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles L. Jr. and his wife, Arlene King of Taneytown; son-in-law, Ray Martin of Pleasant Valley; also survived by one granddaughter, one grandson, several great and great-great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Dorothy Mae Martin, siblings, H. LeRoy, Charles W., Thomas, Irvin C. Harman, Edna M. Miller, Gladys Plank and Ruth King.
A private burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Littlestown, PA will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Westminster.
