Mary Frances Davidson, age 91, of Harrisburg, PA, formerly of Taneytown, MD, died early Thursday morning, December 8, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Harrisburg, PA. Born March 11, 1920 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Effie Stambaugh Ohler. She was the wife of the late Kenneth R. Davidson, who died in 1998.
Many will remember her years working at the Rob-Ellen Shop on the square in Taneytown. She and her husband, “Shorty,” were often seen walking or biking around the community where they resided on Taney Drive for over 50 years. She enjoyed living independently in Harrisburg from 2001 until 2008 before taking up residence at Golden Living Center in Harrisburg.
Surviving are grandson, Dr. Bradley K. Davidson and wife, Jo, of Elizabethtown, PA; great-grandchildren, Emily Davidson Warren, of Hershey, PA, Benjamin C. Davidson, Caleb R. Davidson, James B. Davidson, Grace N. Davidson, Elisabeth H. Davidson, & Jennifer C. Davidson, all of Elizabethtown, PA; daughter-in-law, Carol Davidson Jones of Camp Hill, PA; nieces, Vivian Gardner, Eileen Hively, and Diane Smith, all of Taneytown, & Susan Riffle Mason, of Tuscon, AZ; nephews, Larry Davidson and wife, Margaret, and Tom Riffle of Taneytown. She was predeceased by son, Richard D. Davidson in 1996; sisters, Nadine Ohler Riffle & Helen Ohler; and brother, Elmer Ohler.
A private graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 12 at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Taneytown with Pastor Kevin Dixon officiating. Arrangements are by Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
