Mary Marie Carl, 81, of Mayberry, MD died peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born September 26, 1936 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Levi Joshua and Hannah Catherine (Baker) Frock. She was the devoted wife of the late Donald M. Carl to whom she was happily married for 62 years.
Mary was an assembly worker at Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown for several years and was a licensed daycare provider in her home for 28 years. She was an active member of Mayberry First Church of God where she served as Church Secretary and taught a children’s Sunday School class. Mary was a prayer warrior who loved reading the Bible and sending cards and letters to countless numbers of friends and family members. In 2009, she was the recipient of the Churches of God Eastern Regional Conference’s Towel and Basin Award for her selfless service to others in Christ’s name. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, David Carl and wife Kimberley of Taneytown, and Danny and Deborah Carl of Mayberry; grandchildren, Timothy Carl and wife Keeley and Jonathan Carl and wife Emily, all of Taneytown, and Andrew Carl and fiancé Amanda Tyler of Littlestown, PA; great-grandchildren, Levi David, Lydia Marie and Braddock Michael; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband, Donald, she was predeceased by all three of her siblings and their spouses, Robert Frock and his wife Charlene, Charles Frock and his wife Dottie, and Viola Adkins and her husband Richard.
A joint funeral service for Mary and her husband Donald will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Mayberry First Church of God, 2428 Mayberry Rd., Westminster, MD, 21158 with Pastor Rob Wills officiating. Interment will follow at the Church of God Cemetery in Uniontown. The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24th at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown MD.
