Marshall Clifford Savage, Sr. of Waynesboro, PA died peacefully on Wednesday, May 22nd, his 89th birthday. Born May 22, 1930 in Montgomery County, MD, he was the son of the late Harry and Osie (Poole) Savage. He was the husband of the late Doris (Bovey) Savage, whom he loved dearly.
Marshall was a retired Building Engineer and worked many years for Hartman, Bridell & Watkins in Rockville, MD. He was an excellent carpenter. At one time, he and his wife were caretakers at the Frederick County 4-H Camp Center. They thoroughly enjoyed all the people they met and worked with there. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are daughter, Glenda Chauncey of Silver Spring, MD; son, David Savage and wife Jane of Thurmont, MD; step-children, Michael Johnson and wife Linda of New Market, MD; Debra Angolia of Shippensburg, PA, and Thomas Johnson of Florida; and sister, Osie “Betty” Rhinecker and husband Dave of Frederick, MD. Marshall and Doris had 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Marshall Clifford “Joe” Savage, Jr.; 14 siblings; and his first wife, Dorothy Burdette.
A memorial service to celebrate Marshall's life will be held at 12:00 p.m.on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Graceham Moravian Church, 8231 Rocky Ridge Rd, Thurmont, MD 21788 with Pastor Sue Koenig officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg.
