Marshall Emerson Loudenslager, age 89 of Taneytown, died Monday, January 19, 2009 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. He was born November 21, 1919 in Baltimore, the son of the late Ralph J. and Emma Zile Loudenslager. He was the husband of 68 years to Elizabeth Marie Rutherford Loudenslager. Before retirement he worked 38 years as a truck driver for ACME Markets. He was the champion for many years of the Maryland Motor Truck Rodeo. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door, Vintage Bird Chapter and Family Motor Coach. He was a representative for Transport for Christ and secretary for Loyal Workers. He was a teacher for Boy’s Christian Brigade and worked with Young Life.
In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters, Judy and her husband, Bill Hewett of Rockingham, NC and Sharon M. Loudenslager of Falls Church, VA; siblings, Elizabeth “Betty” Deitz of Baltimore, Margaret McGarity of Towson, Helen Burton of Linthicum and Virginia Palmer of Sykesville; 2 granddaughters, Roxane Stine and Kristin Jones; also survived by 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday 12 Noon at Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster with Rev. Norris Belcher officiating.
Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.
The family will receive friends Friday 11:00 AM until time of service at the church.
