Marlin L. Rittase, age 82, of Glenville, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Brethren Home at Cross Keys Village in New Oxford, PA.
Born September 4, 1933 in Taneytown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Laverne J. and Carrie T. (Smith) Rittase.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, June Close Rittase.
Marlin was a graduate of Taneytown High School Class of 1952.  He was a member of St. David’s UCC in Hanover, PA.  He had a banking career that lasted for 51 ½ years beginning with First National Bank in Taneytown.  He then became a bank examiner with the Maryland State Banking Department, and then helped to open Woodbine National Bank later becoming Westminster Trust Co.  He was an officer, executive Vice President, and Director with Westminster Trust Co., now PNC Bank for 35 years retiring in 2003.  The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the nurses and staff of the Brethren Home and his caregivers from Comfort Keepers in York, PA for their care and compassion.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Sharon L. Hossler of Manchester, MD, Steven R. Sell and wife (Mary) of Westminster, MD and Michael W. Rittase of Manchester, MD; grandchildren, Melissa L. Cullison, Stephanie R. McDonald, and Matthew S. Sell; great-grandchildren, Maci, Dylan, and Hunter; brother, Kenneth F. Rittase of York, PA.
He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Ronald L. Hossler, and brother, William H. Rittase.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with the Rev. Scott Sager officiating.  Burial will follow in the Grace U.C.C. Cemetery in Taneytown.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. David’s U.C.C., 142 Hobart Rd., Hanover, PA  17331-8102.
