Marjorie Lee Schmidt, 93, resident of Finksburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Nova Springs Assisted Living in Finksburg.
Born July 20, 1923 in Crozet, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Dewey Lee and Lottie Lee (Carter) Critzer. Twice married she was predeceased by both her 1st husband, Bernard Monroe Stockton in 1964 and by her 2nd husband, Harry F. Schmidt in 1992.
Marjorie was a member of the Westminster Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was a licensed hairdresser and cosmetologist for 47 years. She loved gardening, singing, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving her are daughter, Sue L. Schubert and husband Jack of Westminster; son, Timothy C. Stockton of TN; step-children, William Schmidt of FL, and Richard Schmidt and wife Anita of Sykesville; grandchildren, Lisa Hepding, Caryn Short, Christine Boore, Michele Ridgely, Brooke and Josh Schmidt, and Brittany Sullivan; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Bill and Wilmer Critzer; and by daughter-in-law, Joyce Lynn Stockton; step-daughter, Carolyn Barnes and husband Robert; grandson, Michael Barnes; and a great-granddaughter, Amanda Ingersoll.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster with the Rev. Robert Martinez officiating. Entombment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville, MD. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
