Marie Elizabeth Zacharias, age 90, of Finksburg, Maryland, formerly of Martinsburg, West Virginia, died peacefully at the home of her niece Friday, May 17, 2013 in Finksburg.
Born May 17, 1923 in Cumberland, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Edward T. Farrell and Bessie (Eury) Farrell. She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Larry Durrette and 2nd husband, Edward Zacharias.
She was a secretary with the U.S. Postal Service.
Surviving are her special niece and caregiver, Margaret “Peggy” Gurick and husband John of Finksburg; and half-sister, Georgia May Rawlings of California. Also surviving granddaughter, Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Bronson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sons, Lawrence David Durrette, Jr. and Joseph E. Durrette; brothers, Edward, William, John, and Howard Farrell; sister Margaret Ann Trageser.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster with Rev. Ann Schlossnagle, Carroll Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Maryland.
