Margaret Esther “Nan” Lockard, age 82, of Westminster, Maryland died peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at her home.
Born August 24, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Oathelia Taylor and Gladys (King) Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jesse R. Lockard.
In her early years, Margaret worked as a beautician, and later retired from the Carroll County Board of Education as a bus driver. She attended Carrollton Church of God in Finksburg. She enjoyed flower gardening; traveling; collecting angels and bird figurines; and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Jesse R. Lockard Jr. and wife Rose of Westminster, Chris Lockard-Windsor and husband Stan of Westminster, Nita Jones and husband Jim of Westminster, Judy Miller and partner Tom Stonesifer of Westminster; brother, Mike Taylor of Catonsville.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Carrollton Church of God, 2151 Bethel Road, Finksburg with Pastor David L. Meador officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrollton Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
