Margaret M. Hayes, 90, of Taneytown died peacefully Sunday, January 16, 2011 at her home. Born August 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late George & Ada (Wagner) Yingling. She was the wife of the late Clifton Hayes, Sr.
She was affiliated with Evangelical Bible Church in Thurmont. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, farm animals, her pets, driving her Pontiac, and eating Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Surviving are son, Douglas Hayes of Taneytown; grandson, Bradley Hayes of Emmitsburg; former daughter-in-law, Deborah Reckley & husband David of Thurmont; dear friends, Sandra Airing of Taneytown & Sonya Clabaugh of Thurmont; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Howard Yingling and a grandson, Specialist Erik Wayne Hayes who was killed in action in Iraq in 2004.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 20 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore St, Taneytown, with Pastor Donna Sandridge officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be private.
