Margaret Ellen Bollinger, age 92, of Woodsboro, Maryland, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at her home after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was the wife of Harold S. Bollinger, Sr., her husband of 71 years.
Born December 10, 1916, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John Asa Colson and Harriet Elizabeth (Jameson) Colson.
She attended New Windsor High School. She was a house wife and raised a family in Rocky Ridge, MD, and was a member of the Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church in Rocky Ridge.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four children, Nancy Dunaway and husband Bennie Joe, of New Brockton, AL., Harold S. Bollinger, Jr. and wife Anita, of Thurmont, John L. Bollinger, of Jessup, GA, and Randy J. Bollinger and wife Eva Jean of Woodsboro; ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bollinger was preceded in death by a sister Bertha Colson and a brother Clayton Colson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main Street, Emmitsburg with the Rev. James Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery in Emmitsburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Craig Bollinger, William Dunaway, Thomas Kruger, C. Richard Lenhart, Jr., Drew Lenhart, and James Triantis. Honorary Pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Nick and Alex Triantis.
