Marea Elizabeth (Blessing) Stonesifer

MaRea Elizabeth Stonesifer, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Born on November 30, 1939 in Carroll County, MD, MaRea enjoyed growing up on the family farm and was greatly influenced by her loving grandparents. She was the devoted wife of the late James H. Stonesifer, with whom she celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage, and is survived by her son, Bruce (Mary), and her four grandchildren: Kelly, Bradley, Joe, and Luke.

As a homemaker and community volunteer, MaRea lived a simple yet very full life and was known for her kindness and great appreciation for the little things. She was an active member of Maryland FCE, which provided her the unique opportunity to visit 45 states and meet with several U.S. presidents. With a crochet project always in the works, she crafted countless blankets for Project Linus to comfort children in need. MaRea especially enjoyed being a grandmother, and her grandchildren can attest that they feel blessed to have been able to call her “Grandma”.
