Mae Elizabeth Zentz, age 97, of Sykesville, Md., departed this life on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Fairhaven Continuing Care Retirement Community in Sykesville, Md.
Born May 31, 1911 in Adams County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Clane Augustus and Sarah Ann Vandelia (Linebaugh) Hardman. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert L. Zentz of Fairhaven in Sykesville.
Mrs. Zentz lived the majority of her life in or near Taneytown, Maryland. She was an avid gardner and enjoyed trips to New England. Mrs. Zentz was a member of the Westminster, Maryland, Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are a son Carl E. Zentz and wife Chong, of Glenn Dale, Maryland, a daughter Joyce P. Schaum, of Westminster, Maryland, and grandsons, Joshua Zentz, Jeremy Zentz, Jason Schaum, and Adam Schaum.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with pastor Stephen F. Wall officiating. Interment will follow in the Keysville Union Cemetery in Keymar, Md. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
