Madalyn Beck Weller, age 93, of Westminster, Maryland, died on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Carroll Lutheran Village Health Care Center in Westminster.
Born July 1, 1916 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Charles Raymond and Margaret Ada (Dorsey) Beck. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Donald C. Weller on March 20, 2009.
She was active in the Matinee Homemakers, and spent several years as a 4-H club leader. Madalyn enjoyed collecting antiques, especially early American glassware, and loved roses from her husband’s garden. She was a member of St. Benjamin’s (Krider’s) Lutheran Church in Westminster.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Darleen Weller, of Westminster; brother and sister-in-law Edward and Miriam Beck, of Sykesville; grandson and wife Justin and Erin Weller of Edgewater; twin greatgranddaughters Amelia and Marissa Weller; brother-in-law Norman Weller of Westminster; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Beck.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 23rd from 6-8 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at St. Benjamin’s (Krider’s) Lutheran Church, Westminster.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with her pastor the Rev. David S. Schafer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
