Lynn Marie Massicot, 43, of Hagerstown, MD died unexpectedly Friday, January 17, 2014 at her home. Born May 7, 1970 in Westminster, she was the daughter of Robert and Beverly Dillon Massicot.
Lynn earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Washington College in Chestertown, MD and her Masters degree from Hood College in Frederick. She was a counselor for children with emotional and behavior problems and spent many years working with developmentally disabled adults. She was an avid reader and Star Wars fan. She enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., Europe and Australia, going to movies, hanging out with her friends, riding her motorcycle ,researching the family genealogy, and collecting Lego sets and Matchbox cars. She loved her pet cat, Jill, which she had since a kitten.
Surviving in addition to her parents are sisters, Shelly Massicot of Washington, D.C. and Wendi Massicot of Hanover, PA. She was predeceased by brother, Allan Massicot.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. THURSDAY, January 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD with the Rev. Gerard Steffner as celebrant. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. WEDNESDAY at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.
