LuRay Boerner Leppo, age 86 of Hanover, PA died Friday October 5, 2012 at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover. She was born September 4, 1926 in Trenton, MD, daughter of the late William and Verna Ray Shaffer Boerner. She was the wife of Charles G. Leppo, her husband of 66 years. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Snydersburg, past member of Hillsdale Homemakers and member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #200 in Hampstead. LuRay had worked at Beacon Steel, Hampstead Sewing Factory and retired from Random House.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn & Tom Gordon of Westminster, Donna and Larry Sharp of Harrisburg, PA and Gina and Russell Beeg of Reno, NV; brother, J. Edgar Boerner of Manchester; grandchildren, Thomas S. Gordon III, Carrie Goughneour, Christopher Serio, Carly Beeg, Jack Beeg, Barbara Sharp Moore and John Sharp; great grandchildren, Madelyne and Christopher Moore.
She was predeceased by siblings, H. LaRue Boog, Violet L. Lippy and William Sterling Boerner.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1616 Cape Horn Road, Hampstead, with Rev. Michael Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Snydersburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster and Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
