Lucy Webb, 65, of Sykesville, Md., died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Carroll Hospice Dove House, Westminster, Md. Born March 8, 1946, in Havana, Cuba, she was the daughter of Samuel B. Webb and Ernestina (DeLaTorre) Webb. Ms. Webb owned and trained thoroughbred race horses for 60 years. She was of the Methodist faith. Lucy was a member of the Charles Town Horsemen's Benevolent Protective Association. She is survived by her significant other for 22 years, Frank Bongiovanni, of Sykesville, Md; and brother, Samuel E. Webb and wife, Lucy, of Jonestown, Pa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Franklin Virts Jr. Services will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, with Chaplain Bo Bullock and Dr. Henry Christie officiating. Interment will be at Middleway Masonic Cemetery, in Middleway.
