Louise Dern Wright, 105, of Westminster, died Friday, May 15, 2015 at Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center, where she was a resident for over 25 years.
Born August 14, 1909 in Keysville, Carroll County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Roy R. Dern and Hannah M. Sauble Dern. She was the wife of the late Raymond K. Wright and a resident of Union Bridge for 65 years.
Louise Was a graduate of Union Bridge High School and Strayer’s Business College and a member of the Union Bridge Church of the Brethren. She was employed by the former Union Bridge Banking & Trust Company for many years and taught in Carroll County Schools in her later years. She was a world traveler.
Surviving are a son, R. Kindley Wright, Jr. M.D. and his wife, Lorraine Salvato Wright of Lakewood Ranch, FL; ½ sister, Ellen Dern Koons of Portland, OR; and 2 grandsons, Gregory and Eric Wright.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015 in the Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, with Reverend Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery, near Linwood. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the Krug Chapel.
