Louise Mae Hinton, age 95, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born February 3, 1914 in Hunting Hills, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jesse (Connors) Crown. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman H. Hinton in 1991.
Louise was a founding member of the Taneytown Baptist Church. She was awarded a citation from the Governor of Maryland for her achievements as a foster care parent for over twenty years. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved fishing.
Surviving are children, Maryann Simpson and husband Larry of Odenton, James L. Hinton and wife Mary Ann of Dover, Delaware, Melody Smith and husband Grant of Taneytown, Sharon Heffner and husband Lanny of Laurens, S.C., Richard Hinton of Taneytown, and Jerry Mongold of Frederick; brother Ralph Crown of Florida; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a foster son, James Disney.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Pastor Raymond Slattery and Pastor Gary Buchman co-officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
