Lou Siemer

Lou Siemer, age 76, of Taneytown, MD, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital. Born June 26, 1946, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Mildred M. (Deich) Siemer. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Trudy (Beutgen) Siemer.

Lou worked as a Telecommunications Manager for Maryland National Bank, Chevy Chase FSB and Verizon. He was a devoted family man, whose hobbies included bowling, fishing and chess. Those who knew him would say he never met a stranger.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Matt Siemer and wife Caroline; a daughter, Gail Siemer, all of Fuquay Varina, NC; sister-in-laws, Rose Wolf and Pat Siemer; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lou was predeceased by a brother, Carl “Bud” Siemer.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Friday, February 3, 2023, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 136 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the funeral home, with Rev. Jim Crocker officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mount View Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104.
