Lottie May Arnold, 100, of Taneytown, MD died Monday, January 28, 2013 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born May 19, 1912 near Reese, MD she was the daughter of the late William “Buck” and Jennie Hoffman Arnold. She was the wife of the late George V. Arnold, Sr. who died in 1977.



Lottie served as a “Guidette” tour guide for Fairchild Corporation near Hagerstown during World War II. She was the office manager for the Kerr-McGee Company in Keymar for 30 years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown where she was a member of the Sodality. She was also a member of the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.



Surviving are son, George V. Arnold, Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Taneytown; grandchildren, Paul Arnold, Kathleen Devilbiss and husband, Thomas, and George A. Arnold and wife, Sue, all of Taneytown, Teresa DiMauro and husband, Rick, of Joppa, Deborah Myers and husband, Thomas, of East Berlin, PA, Mary Jeanne Ball and husband, James, of Baldwin, Cynthia Welker and husband, Byron, of New Windsor, Brian Arnold and wife, Pamela, of Potomac, and Patricia Hitchner and husband, Jamie, of Littlestown, PA; 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, a cousin, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Lester Arnold, and sister, Etta Green.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD with the Rev. Gerard Steffener serving as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.
