Loraine Melvin Clabaugh, age 72, of Littlestown, Pa., died on Friday, September 12, 2008 at home.
Born January 25, 1936 in Ladiesburg, Md., he was the son of the late Melvin J. and Mildred I. (Shriner) Clabaugh. He was the husband of 50 years to Sonja B. (Reid) Clabaugh.
Mr. Clabaugh was a veteran of the Maryland National Guard, and had worked for many years as a small engine and automobile mechanic. He enjoyed antique cars, outdoors, nature, and attending steam-engine shows.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are children and spouses, Ricky L. Clabaugh of Missouri, Debora J. and David Reckley of Thurmont, Md., Linda C. and Mike Cooper of Aspers, Pa., Charles D. and Chrissy Clabaugh of Littlestown, Pa., and Karen L. Thurley of Carlisle, Pa.; a sister and husband, Ruth I. and Paul “Pug” Finneyfrock of Thurmont; grandchildren, Charlene, Stacey, Lisa, Christina, Charles, Jr., Ashley, and Kyle Clabaugh, Bradley Hayes, Randy Brent, Jessica Barrett, Jason and Jen Cooper, Taylor and Austin Renner, Daniel Koons, and Isaiah Thurley.
Also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a grandson, Erik Hayes in 2004, and by great-granddaughters, Brook Leland in 1993, and Olivia Clabaugh in 2007.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with Rev. Donna Sandridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Harney, Md. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
