Lois Elaine (Pentz) Hess

Lois Elaine Hess, age 75, of Taneytown, MD, passed on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Dove House in Westminster. Born March 7, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Richard H. and Mary V. (Thieret) Pentz. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Hess, Jr.

Lois loved Drum and Bugle Corp music, especially the Hanover Lancer, attending many events throughout her life. She enjoyed drag racing and reading. She cherished times spent with her family and was a passionate caregiver for many family members.

Surviving are children, Daniel Dettinger and wife Lisa of Littlestown, PA, Jennifer Keeton and husband Daymon of Stedman, NC, Karen Alfree and husband Leroy of York Springs, PA, and Corey Hess and wife Michelle of Taneytown, MD; grandchildren, Nathan Dettinger, Tyler Starling and wife Jordan, Nick West, Elijah West, Ryan Bennett, Cody Bennett, Madyson, Kayla Becker and husband Brandon, and Kelly Hess; 1 great grandson, Noah; sister, Sharon Sabo and husband John of Pottstown, PA; and many nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and husband.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 10-12 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon at the funeral home.
