Linda Lee Kraft, age 70, of Taneytown, Maryland, died peacefully on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Born November 3, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Thelma (Glover) Coleman of Frizzellburg, MD, and the late A. Royer Coleman.
Linda was a 1960 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School in Union Bridge, and was active in planning reunions and the alumni association. She was very dedicated to her work as a cashier for Safeway Food Stores in Westminster and Walkersville for 40 years until her retirement. She was an active volunteer for the Emmitsburg Food Bank and the Emmitsburg Council of Churches, recently serving as Treasurer. Linda was an active member of Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church in Emmitsburg. She loved her pet dog “Dusty”, and enjoyed shopping.
In addition to her mother she is survived by daughter, Cheryl Crowe of Union Bridge; sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Tim Kyle of Westminster; granddaughters Jamie Crowe, of Union Bridge, and Tabitha Bollinger and companion Josh Vanleeuwen, of West Virginia; four great-grandchildren; and 1 niece, 1 nephew, and 2 great-nephews.
Also surviving is her 30 year companion and friend, Charlie Chenault of Taneytown.
She was pre-deceased by her former spouse, Lee Kraft in Sept. 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with Rev. Tim Kromer officiating. Interment will follow in the Westminster Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
