Linda Lee (Wootton) King

Finksburg

Linda Lee King peacefully passed away at her home on March 28th, 2021.

Born October 4th, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, Linda was the daughter of the late Lillian M. and Harry D. Wootton, Sr. She was preceded in death by husband, Alic B. King, Finksburg, MD; and brothers, Harry D. Wootton Jr. and Fred B. Wootton and his wife Michelle.  She is survived by sons, Stephen V. Gorsuch (Melissa Runge) of Atlanta, GA, and Patrick N. Gorsuch (Knut Ranheim) of Oslo, Norway; grandchildren, Justin, Blake and Harper Gorsuch and Paige and Riley Leard.  She is also survived by brother, David W. Wootton (Susan) of Lutherville, MD; sister, Susan G. O’Hara (Ronald) of Barclay, MD; sister-in-law, Marilyn K. Wootton of Largo, FL; and her companion of many years, Clifford F. Yingling of Finksburg, MD.

Linda graduated from Milford Mill High School, class of 1960, and attended the University of Maryland, graduating with the class of 1964.  She was an elementary school teacher at Freedom Elementary School in Eldersburg, MD for 33 years. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Finksburg, Maryland, where she applied her skills as an educator by leading youth summer camps/events, and assuming numerous leadership roles.  Linda will be remembered for her caring nature, hospitality, and determination to do good and spread love throughout her community.

Throughout her life, Linda continued her journey of growth in faith and humanity.  For this she will always be remembered.

A funeral service and celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 15th, 2021 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster MD with Pastor Lou Piel officiating.  The service will be live-streamed at https://www.facebook.com/MDFHWestminster for those unable to attend.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, MD.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
