Linda Kea Bivens, age 64, of Emmitsburg, died on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the York Hospital in York, PA.
Born October 6, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Kea (Martin) Strickland. She was predeceased by her husband, Tommie Alan Bivens in 2001.
Linda was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Emmitsburg, and worked for over 25 years at St. Joseph Provincial House as a dietary aide.
Surviving are a son, Francis “Jake” Lee Bivens and fiancée Cathy Gum of Emmitsburg; grandchildren, Austin Lee Bivens; step-grandchildren, Shawn and Kelsie Knight; cousins, Edith Gordon, Suzie, Rodney, and Jason Brown; god-daughter, Jamie Orndorff; and special friend Ruth Joy.
A prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg. Inurnment will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
