Linda Jean Barnes, age 76 of Westminster passed away at St. Joseph Medical Center, Baltimore. MD. Born March 14, 1948, in Westminster, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lavina Mahanna. She was the loving wife of Robert “Bob” Barnes, together for 60 years.
Linda was a stay-at-home mom caring for her family. Once her children had struck out on their own, she worked at Random House for over 15 years. She was very creative and talented, she enjoyed crafts of all kinds, sewing, baking, and gardening, she loved her flowers. She was a sang for many years in the church choir, she was loving and caring, always willing to help those around her. She adored all her grandchildren and was a proud military mom-mom.
Besides her husband Bob she is survived by her children, Theresa Barnes-Boeckmann, Robert Barnes, Jr., and Tiffany Huff; grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, and Chase Boeckmann, Madison and Mackenzie Barnes; great-grandchildren Savannah Peterson, Victoria Sandoval and Lillianne Gentry; brother, Michael Eckenrode and sister, Regina Eckenrode.
She was predeceased by her daughter Julie Ann Barnes.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Virgil Cain officiating.
The family will receive friends and the funeral home on Monday, December 9th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
