Lewis A. Cool, age 76, of Emmitsburg, Maryland died Friday, April 18, 2008 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born October 26, 1931, he was the son of the late George J. and Alice (Topper) Cool. He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Wantz) Cool.
He was a warehouse clerk at St. Joseph’s College and had also worked at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg. He served in the United States Army 1950-1953.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gerard & Christine Cool of Emmitsburg; granddaughter Jennifer Cool & fiancé Gary Glass of Rocky Ridge; brothers Albert, Donald & Joseph Cool of Emmitsburg and John Cool of Thurmont; sisters Thelma Deatherage and Sister Angela Cool, D.C. of Emmitsburg, Mildred Sponseller of Hanover, PA, and Frances Hemler of Taneytown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by brothers Cletus & Allen Cool and sisters Louise Peters & Mary Alice Cool.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, with the Rev. Steven P. Trzecieski, C.M. as celebrant. Inurnment will be in the New St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Emmitsburg. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
