LeRoy Holmes, age 87, of Westminster, died Tuesday December 15, 2009 at Carroll Hospital Center. He was born November 19, 1922 in Elkton, Maryland the son of the late Grason and Carolyn Rothwell Holmes. He was the husband of Miriam Gilmer Churn Holmes, his wife of 52 years. Before retirement he worked as a barber. He was a member of Church of the Open Door.
In addition to his wife he is survived by many nieces and nephews. He is the last of 16 siblings.
A funeral service will be held Friday 11:00 A.M. at Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd.,Westminster with Pastor Norris Belcher officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
The family will receive friends Friday 10 AM until time of service at the church.
Arrangements are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Westminster.
