Leonard F. Clukey, age 75, of Thurmont, MD, died on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at St. Catherine’s Nursing Center in Emmitsburg, MD. He was born July 14, 1936 in Dexter, Maine, son of the late Frederick and Rosa (Mountain) Clukey.
Len taught school until he came to Maryland in the early 60’s. Later, he worked for the Job Corp at Husson College in Bangor, Maine.
Surviving are sister, Betty Baker and husband Bob of MD; brother, Louis Clukey and wife Nancy of FL.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings, Viola Keyte, Lloyd Clukey and Deanna Tarr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Monday, March 19, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Emmitsburg, with the Rev. John J. Holliday, C.M. serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at New St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-3 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, Emmitsburg.
