Leo Sterling Orndorff, 67, of Hagerstown, MD died peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Hospice of Washington County’s Doey’s House, in Hagerstown with his family by his side. Born May 19, 1951 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Regina (Orendorff) Orndorff of Emmitsburg and the late Sterling Leo Orndorff.
Leo was a self-employed painter and worked for various area businesses over the years. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and talking politics. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins.
Surviving, in addition to his mother Regina, are sister, Millie Valentine and husband Phil of Emmitsburg; brothers, Jim Orndorff of Emmitsburg and Gary Orndorff of York, PA; nephews, David Valentine and wife Gina of Littlestown, PA and Seth Orndorff of York, PA; great-nephew, Hunter Valentine; and Leo’s beloved dog, Jack. In addition to his father, Leo was predeceased by sister-in-law Angie Orndorff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Anthony Shrine Parish, 16150 St. Anthony Rd., Emmitsburg, MD with The Rev. J. Collin Poston as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Emmitsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Leo’s name may be made to Doey’s House, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
