Leatrice Larue (Coe) Ott

Leatrice LaRue (Coe) Ott, age 97 of Emmitsburg, died on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center, in Frederick. Born May 4, 1926, in Taneytown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Raymond and Edna Viloa (Reinaman) Ott. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Ott Sr. who passed in 1973.

Leatrice was a woman of deep faith. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Emmitsburg. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and cats. She cherished the time she spent with family and friends.

Surviving are children, Donald E. Ott and wife Patricia of Denver, CO, Patricia A. Kunst and husband Eugene of Frederick, MD, Allen S. Ott and wife Heidi of Gettysburg, PA, Regina M. Weaver of Hagerstown, MD, John B. Ott and wife Sandy of Baltimore, MD, Anthony L. Ott of Emmitsburg, Josephine K. Mellor and husband Steve of Ryan, OK, Elizabeth Sweeney and husband Clifford of Emmitsburg, MD and Paul V. Ott of Frederick, MD; sister, Genevieve Pattillo of NJ; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Leatrice was predeceased by her husband Thomas Ott; parents, Charles Sr. and Edna Ott; children, Thomas E. Ott Jr., Raymond J. Ott, Mary L. Flickinger, Caroline M. Ott, Rosemary Ott and Teresa L. Howard; brother, Charles Coe; and sister, Elizabeth Smith.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main Street, Emmitsburg, MD 21727 from 6-8 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 47 Depaul St, Emmitsburg, MD 21727 with Fr. Alberto Barattero, IVE officiating.
