Lawrence “Larry” Wayne Myers, age 71, of Taneytown, Maryland, resident at Lorien Taneytown, formerly of Westminster, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Carroll Hospital Center. Born November 3, 1943 in Hanover, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Ruth (Dahlgreen) Myers of Taneytown and the late Ralph O. Myers.
Larry was a member of the ARC of Carroll County and the Sandymount United Methodist Church in Finksburg. He worked for many years as a cafeteria worker for Black and Decker Corporation in Hampstead, and Random House in Westminster. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.
Surviving in addition to his mother are siblings, Ralph F. Myers and wife Leannah of Greensburg, PA, Guy A. Myers and wife Phyllis of Westminster, and Shirley A. Cox of Westminster. Also surviving are 3 nephews and 2 nieces.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St, Westminster, MD. Private graveside services and interment will follow on Saturday in the Sandymount United Methodist Cemetery in Finksburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ARC of Carroll County, 180 Kriders Church Rd., Westminster, MD 21158.
