Lawrence William Rentsel, age 72, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Gettyburg Hospital in Gettysburg, PA.
Born November 15, 1937 in Bonneauville, PA, he was the son of the late Lee William and Estella (Ginter) Rentsel.
He was a long haul truck driver for most of his working life. He was a member of the Blue Ridge Sportsman Club, and enjoyed stripping copper wire.
Surviving are children, James “Tony” A. Rentsel and wife Vickie of Perkasie, PA, Karen L. “Missy” Stackhouse of Thurmont, Maryland; siblings, Betty L. Pittinger and husband Roland of Taneytown, Henry L. Rentsel of Sabillasville, Helen Baumgardner and husband Johnny of Taneytown, Charles E. Rentsel and wife Jane of Fairfield, PA, and Estella F. Cash and husband George of Bonneauville, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings, Elsie E. Rentsel, Mary Anna Haley, and Leo F. Rentsel.
DUE TO THE EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS, A PRAYER SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 AM, ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2010 AT THE MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, Maryland. Interment will follow in St. Joseph (The Worker) Catholic Cemetery in Bonneauville, PA. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS ON SUNDAY FROM 6-8 PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
